2015 and later can not copy convert a 3dsketch on surface, 2014 and old can.
Why.. why was this changed?
I don't know Paul.... I can't make the 2015 sketch convert but I can the 2014 (and prior). I did notice if I added a small "spline on surface" to the 2015 and made that a fit spline it worked. Grrrrrrr.....
..they eff'd it up,. another screw-up... and the message is so krazy lame.. "...projected into a sketch plane."... it's a 3DSKETCH on a 3D FACE!
Can we know the person who test the software?
Can we fire this person?
Can we fire the developer?
Can we get our money back ?????????????????
SW Corp response.........
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind.
I can't add coincident relations between a point and the spline line using two surface splines.
so, you ran into this limitation.. that is, your curve on the surface can not be copied..?
and, yes, there are other problems as well.. the ends or points shared on that curve have issues and adding relations also have problems.. (that is.. it's screwed up)
sorry,..I don't have answers Pedro,.. I'm very frustrated with how curves and surfaces have been addressed in the past few years..
MANY do NOT complain about these problems and NOTHING gets fixed.
WELL?.... this is also in 2017 sp1.... (so much fun... WASTING OUR $$$$$$, SWEET!>?)
COME ON!... WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS? .. and WHO IS GOING TO FIX IT... DCUBE>>>>?????
HOT FIX FOR !>!>!> 2015, 2016 and 2017!!!
So?... will this be fixed!?!?
Not knowing how SW monitors the threads for sure I don't know, but it does seem like when we tag one of the more responsive SW employees we at least get noticed. Some times that at least SEEMS to help. Not that getting noticed equates to getting fixed, but at least noticed.
..I KNOW they know about this... someone lurking KNOWS..., we have to wait 4yrs for this to be FIXED?!?!?
THERE SHOULD BE A HOT FIX FOR THE PREVIOUS RELEASES!!!
This feature was part of my workflow... and they BROKE IT!
How About it SW? Why was this taken away? What was the trade off if any? Please at least respond with something. I.E. functionality was discontinued so that new functionality could be implemented, etc.... Don't just evade the question it breeds malcontent. Someone tag a bunch of the SW guys that monitor this forum. I would but I don't know how.

what you want to do is type @ then the name of the individual only use a _ between the names rather than a space.
Or look in the lower right corner of the space you are typing in and remember to use the underscore instead of the space.
Is there a place where I can find names of those who monitor the forum who are SW employees?@JimSteinmeyer
No, there is no list of names anywhere. All I know is to read the forum and notice who is responding, then tag them. So If you spend time in the surfacing area notice who responds to the surfacing questions and tag them. I am seldom there so I have no idea.
And for reference, when you attempted to tag me you did not use the underscore between my names.
it should be @ Jim_Steinmeyer only with no space between the @ and my name.
