I opened an stl file from another program into SolidWorks and for some reason it scaled the entire part massively. A cat's trachea is apparently almost 300 m long. How do I fix this?

check the units on your import options.
How?
In SW, go to file- open
set the file type to STL (blue)
this will make an "options" button appear (red)

Set whoever sent you the part to use the units you use.
If you use inches, have them export in inches.
If you know exactly how much it has scaled, you can scale it back ...
