I am using SolidWorks 2016 SP3 and am having issues when selecting some parts and faces in an assembly, I am getting a long delay like SolidWorks is searching for the selection and then it finally finds it.
This is extremely annoying and I have tried turning off some options and so far nothing has helped.
Has anyone else noticed this issue and are there any workarounds?
Is this a know bug?
Below are my computer specs.
Also when I upgraded to SWX 2016 SP3 from 2015 SP5 I did a complete uninstall of 2015, cleaned the system and registry with CCleaner, updated my graphics card drivers to the latest from SWX Download and then did a clean install of 2016 SP3 and everything went very smoothly and this selection issue is the biggest problem I am having.
Dell Precision T5810

Tony,
I don't have an answer for you.
I experience similar. It is very random. I don't even have to select an edge or a face, sometimes as you scroll over a face it will think about it.
I have experience it from SW 2014.
I thought it was graphics related after we put in a new computer
Custom built IC3D - Overclocked i7 - 4.0GHz, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro K2000 Graphics Card
I have now passed on that computer and replaced with a updated version of that machine
Custom built IC3D - Overclocked i7 - 4.5GHz, 32GB RAM, the new NVIDIA Quadro M2000 Graphics Card. SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP3
I thought it might be mouse related! I use a Logitech M570 Trackball. I tend to replace them every 2 - 3 years
I have recently replaced with a new M570 and it appears to happen less but still occasionally and still very random
I also have a 3DConnexion Space Navigator connected
I'll follow up tomorrow with the person I passed my computer on to to see if he is still experiencing it!
Tony,
Following up with my other computer. Apparently he has not experienced the issue since using that computer. Both computers had new installs of SOLIDWORKS.
So maybe it is some mouse - SW conflict!
