Hi All:

For a certain purpose, I need to edit an STL file (file 1 as attached) into something like file 2.

The 3D models attached are all formed by surfaces (no thickness). I don't know how can I edit it.

Or should I draw a solid model in solidworks and transfer it into file 2?

I have been stuck here for more than a week now. Your help is highly appreciated.
