I'm trying to convert these peace to sheet metal and i continue to get these error "The edge/face selected for a bend is not on the same side as the fixed face "
please help me
The issue is a result of non planar surfaces. Convert to sheet metal is going to need planar surfaces Can you get away with a Boss extrude with a draft. I made mine 8° and it lines up fairly close to your sketches. No need to shell or fillet your solid.
Edit:... I wanted to add that you can check to see if your surfaces are planar by trying to put a plane on a surface. If you don't get an offset option it is not planar.
so let me understand. even if a loft have straight edges u can't convert it into sheet metal and unfold it
Bolgar,, sorry for the delay but was driving in to SackOfTomatoes. Yes the edges can be straight but the surfaces twisted. If the surfaces are twisted or bulged the "Convert to Sheet Metal" tool will not work with that. It is looking for a flat face when it comes around a bend. There are SW sheet metal tools which will allow you develop your part with twists and bulges and still unfold but they would not work on your part. Those tools will produce what is called "free form" bends. Bends that don't have a constant and uniform radius.
thank you for the help
