fixating view in motion study animation recording

In SW 2008 SP4.0, I am using generating a motion study where I have a rod rotating, and I want to save that animation but with the viewpoint being from the left side. I switch view so I am normal to Left plane, and then press calculate. All goes well, and then I save the animation file. Except once I began rendering this movie, it is back in the configuration before I switched to the viewpoint that is normal to the Left plane. As a result, I am not getting an animation movie with the view I want.

So the question is, how can I set a viewpoint when I am saving an animation? Anyone? Any pointers/tips would help. Thanks!
