Has anyone installed SW16 SP 4 yet? I haven't found release notes for it to see what might be new/different.
It is still in EV - "Early visibility" so there is possibly no release notes available except to those in the EV program
Just downloading it but release notes or what has been fixed is not out yet.
Here are the 2016 SP4 release notes, as it was just released yesterday.
SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP4 Release Notes
There is also a link for "Fixed SPR List" in a Customer Portal account under the section 'My Support', but it hasn't been fully updated for the full SW2016 SP4 yet, only the EV version.
So I installed it and now my thumbnail part pictures are back. They disappeared on my system when I installed SP3 for some reason, but others here still had theirs.
May be the DLL related to thumbnail might have got corrupted.
Thank you all for making me aware of SP4 having been released!
I see it was released yesterday, I'm downloading it to our network now.
I've just installed SP4.0 and wish I hadn't. My icons now have a mix of default and classic colouring. Switching the option in the settings from classic to default makes no difference.
that sounds about right. Have you seen the first post here
Update on UI changes for SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP04 and SOLIDWORKS 2017
I thought the default and classic options should still work though.
Yeah, looked up the release notes, they have tweaked the UI again. I just got used to the blue/grey (and getting to like it after the initial dislike) now the default is a mix of the two.
The classic is not quite the classic that is was:
I wish they would make their minds up. They told us the blue/grey was to help those who were colour blind, so what's with the mix in the default?
Really not a fan of all this is there not something better to concentrate resources on?
Suppose I'll get use to this one eventually. Looking at the differences it seems a big waste of time. I skipped SP3 so not sure what the first iteration in the colour differences were.
I installed SP4.0 yesterday and I can switch between default and classic icon schemes.
However; default is everything in grey/blue and classic is a mix of grey/blue and the original colored icons.
My sketch, standard view, and view icons are all still blue/grey no matter which icon scheme I choose. I use my sketch icons the most and I'm forced to use the blue/grey mess.
It's disappointing to say the least especially knowing Solidworks will never give us a complete return to the pre-2016 icon scheme.
I see one or two icons that were changed in the classic scheme but otherwise it doesn't look like they spent much of the time since the last service pack working on the icons.
It looks so terrible in classic with the mix of icon colors; I have to think that whoever did this is a SW competitor who snuck into a job at SW trying to destroy the software from the inside.
Roy,.. I tested with the sp4ev and this sp4 and both default/classic change back and forth with no problem.
...although, they did not change all of the 50 shades of gray/blue.. to help all of us with the color we all love/live around,..
(btw, what I do see.. if you edit your interface, that is, "Customize".. the sub menu icon colors are a mix.. some default, some classic?)
haha 50 shades of gray thats an *******Movie
Yes, Downloaded and Installed - Very much same as sp4 ev
