Is there a way to print out a list of all the components in
an assembly short of making a BOM? We are using 2006 version SW. In
AutoCAD, I was able to use a lsp program that would generate a
separate list of all the blocks in an assembly.
I too would love to have this capability. I think it is bogus to
have to start a drawing to create a BOM and I also think it's bogus
to have to program anything.
PRO/E had this capability since day one and AutoCAD has something
too!
Very helpful. Better than nothing I suppose. A numerical list
displaying the parts in order would be better and I notice that it
does not list what the fasteners are.
I assume you are talking about file references. A lsp and a
macro are the same except one is used for one program and the other
for SolidWorks. There are several examples in API help that show
how to traverse an assembly (although it is a little tricky to
duplicate assembly order). This is how you probably want to
go.
I was trying to do the same, print a bom only. I tried to cut and
paste but it won't copy to the clip board. File properties does
give me the list but I would just like a list of the parts with qty
and don't really want the file location info.
The table looks like Excel but I can't figure out how to make it
print by itself. Is it not possible?

Now that's bad!!!
Come on SolidWorks.
Thanks
