Is it possible to have Hole Tags (the call outs associated with a Hole Table) automatically placed on a layer of my choosing?  I have the Hole Table (and most other things...) going to appropriate layers, but Hole Tags appear to be impossible.  Maybe I'm missing something.  After the Hole Tags are created I can select them and move them to a layer, but for the life of me I can't see where to assign them by default.

It appears (if, in fact, this is not possible) that it is an over sight.  As, so far as I can tell, most all other items placed on a drawing can be automatically placed on a layer through settings in Document Properties.

My reasoning for wanting to do this:  We use a lot of flat plate to manufacture our machines.  So much so, that we purchased a water jet.  I would like to ease the process and eliminate as much human error as possible for the guy sending files to the water jet.  So, currently when files are brought into the water jet programming software we can easily turn off Dimensions, Titleblocks, Hole Tables, Center Marks, etc.. by turning off their respective layers.  But, we must navigate around the DXF files and manually delete Hole Tags.  Sooner or later I'm going to end up with a little "A1" cut through a plate.

The only work around I see is having the designer turn off all other layers in SolidWorks, window the Hole Tags, and manually change their layer.  But, this is right back to human introduced error.

Seems like there should be an option, since nearly all else can be automatically placed on a layer.

While we're at it, what about cosmetic threads?  Same issue and reason.

Hope I'm just missing something.

Thanks,

- Mike
