How do I change the units on a plot when using SolidWorks Motion? The angular velocity is in deg/sec and I want rad/s or rpm.
I do have the same question. Let's ask Hari Padmanabhan for some help
If you change the document units, does it affect the plotting?
Nope Sarah it doesn't unfortunately
It is not currently possible to change the unit. You may want to add yourself to Enhancement Request 419825, or ask your SOLIDWORKS reseller to do it for you.
Thanks Julien will do!
Julien is right. changing the units works for other parts but not for angle units - rad/s or rpm.
May I kindly ask why and if there is a plan to fix this? Thanks
The angle units affects the way you define angle dimensions in SOLIDWORKS. I'm not sure if users want to define their angles in "revolutions" or "radians". The most common is to define angle units in degrees.
On the second issue of the plan to fix it, I'm currently researching the right way to fix this issue. In the picture above in this thread, under motion units we can add another row for the units for "Angular Velocity" and provide these new options - rpm and rad/s. But are there any other standard motion result quantities you change the units outside what we do today? can you please let me know? Thanks.
we do appreciate you working with us on this. As far as other units I will let you know if I feel constrained in any way by the current settings.
I am sure other users will follow and do the same.
