Creating new UNISTRUT configurations?

My company uses a 5/8" UNISTRUT. This size is not in the basic toolbox installation. Does anyone know how I can creat a new configuration for this size so that I can it in my assembly's?

I did find a configure... option under the Toolbox pull down menu but am unsure of how to use this feature. Is this where I go to create new sizes for UNISTRUT? If someone knows of a tutorial on how to use it please let me know.

It might work if you try copying the standard and then adding the new size to it. The issue is that since you are changing the cross section it might not like to play well with it. We manufacture our own line of strut and I am working with one of our new designers to create models of different cross sections. I tried to use the Unistrut in the toolbox but got annoyed very quickly. Depending on how you want to use the strut in your models it might be easier for you just to create a design library using the models that are in the toolbox and editing them after they are inserted into a part to get the correct length.

I have played around with having strut work more like weldment profiles do but haven't gotten really far with it yet.

If you decide to go outside Toolbox, I already have a raw material template with a bunch of different varieties of unistrut in it as configs.

You can also download the Unistrut profiles from SW into the weldment profile folder and use them as structural members. If you need a special profile, just make a copy of the .sldlfp file and modify it as needed.
