I have to create a solid that represents the profile of a part as it sweeps through an arc to create clearance in a mating part. I am not aware of a method to "sweep" or "revolve" a body and I am wondering if any of you extremely clever individuals have figured out a method of doing this. Obviously the Sweep, Loft and Revolve features only let you perform those functions on sketches. The closest I have been able to get with this is to create a circular pattern at the desired angle about the center of the arc I want to sweep the body through and give it a large number of instances (see attached). Unforturnately, Solidworks will not allow me to combine the resulting bodies together, I suspect because it creates alot of weird geometry and intersections. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
