Here's my problem. I recently migrated to Vista 64-bit, with
8 gigs of RAM. I LOVE it!!! Overall more stable than any flavor of
XP, and the headroom of that extra memory lets me do crazy things
like running two instances of SW at the same time, with one doing a
COSMOS simulatioin and the other running like nothing is wrong (two
quad-core processors and the 4600 card with 768 Megs of video RAM
doesn't hurt, either).
One issue keeps popping up, though. When I have a large assembly open, I can move, rotate, zoom; but pretty often the screen hangs up and does not redraw as it should (things keep rotating, for example, in the background, but what I see is the last image that was on the screen, before I started rotating).
I can redraw the screen, but only by pulling down the View menu. Shortcut keys that I have tried to assign do not work; SW will not redraw when I hit the key. Neither does creating a macro using GraphicsRedraw2, and then assigning a key to that (the macro runs, but not when invoked through a hotkey).
1. Does anyone else have this problem?
2. Aside from updating video drivers (done) or assigning macro keys (tried), does anyone have any thoughts on how to address this problem?
Thanks,
Danielle
