I have created an assembly and also setup an exploded view
configuration. When I try to Save As 3D PDF, the resulting file
always has the assembly assembled, not exploded!
It would appear that all of my concerns are addressed by
using Adobe externally. I am using an assembly that is exploded the
way I want it, but it is workable. Also, I can see the part numbers
that are assigned by default in the file-save command (in the Adobe
tree view). File size through Solidworks was 650K, through Adobe
version 9 it was < 170K! Not too shabby!
Billy, do you mean if you use Acrobat 3D (or Extended as it
is now called)? Acrobat Extended will open the SolidWorks file
format and let you do exploded animations or whatever you need
there.

I'm using SolidWorks 2011 SP2EV and I've the same problem.
Someone know if there is a regression bug or something else, because I tried on SW2010 before the upgrade and it worked.
