PDMWorks and Revisions

Hi

I don't know much about PDMWorks at this stage, so sorry if it's a stupid question.

I would like to know how PDMWorks handles previous/older revisions of drawings? Can I, for instance, open up a previous revision drawing without the drawing showing the current version of the model part/assembly? This is a problem with Solidworks and we are thinking of implementing the PDMWorks software to better control the drawings in our system.

Is there a good beginners guide to the software somewhere online?

PDMW handles all versions of your revisioned part, assembly or drawing. You indicate what revision you want to see and you get that version of the file. PDMW can only do this for files that are under vault control meaning that you can't check-in a revision 3 file and expect to see any revisions of that file before revision 3.

You should get with your VAR and have them do a demo for you and I am sure they have, or can direct you to, tutorials.

the correct term you are looking for is "as-built".
this exists in pdmw.

as a newbie, you should run the vault in a test envinronment to fully understand how this works and for that matter how pdmw functions in general.

there are no guides. it's a fairly basic application.
