I'm not sure what you mean by control server. Our SQL Server database is on a cluster. Our archive servers are not. We've talked about using virtual servers, however our IS people have some concern about doing that, since there is a lot of IO traffic. I'll be interested to hear if putting an archive server on a cluster is supported.
Sorry about being unclear (not an IT person).
Basically, our IT are looking to put a SAN inplace, for file storage.
However we have been told for the SQL database 'table', this needs to be on a single sever unit/box.
However the likes of Sharepoint, (SQL database), this can use mutliple sever units to hold the 'table'. Basically like RAID across a networks.
Any comments appreciated.
At this point in time Enterprise does not support SQL replication however it does support replication of the Archive Server (physical files). This works really well although it would be nice to have SQL replication as well.
