Can anyone tell me why the In-Place mate of in-context parts disappears when I form a new subassembly from these parts? Highly undesirable since the assembly obviously loses the in-context relationships and everything 'goes to hell'.


Update: Aside from the above, I also tried the "alternative technique" ( as suggested in Matt's SW 2007 bible ) of inserting a blank part, mating the 3 standard planes of the part to the 3 standard planes of the assembly. Fine, that works too initially. But again, upon forming a new subassembly from these in-context parts, the parts themselves lose their mates! When I open the subassembly by itself, I can move the parts around which should not be happening.

I'm beginning to hate this program more and more.
