How to import Adobe Illustrator files with multiple versions of Adobe Illustrator and SolidWorks.

A long time ago when I had ONE version of Illustrator and ONE version of SolidWorks installed I could import Illustrator files. At some point, I discovered after having added multiple versions of Illustrator and SolidWorks to my system, I could no longer import Illustrator files.

I would receive the message "Adobe Illustrator version CS3 or later Installation is required to Import an Adobe Illustrator file to SolidWorks".

Recently I uninstalled all versions of Adobe Illustrator and used Adobe's registry purge tool to remove those entries. I then installed the latest CC version. I still get the message "Adobe Illustrator version CS3 or later Installation is required to Import an Adobe Illustrator file to SolidWorks". This happens in version 2016 as well as the previous versions of SolidWorks that are installed.

Does anyone know how to fix this? (Ideally without uninstalling and reinstalling SolidWorks, or having only one version of SolidWorks installed)
