I have been looking at the Excel Automation tool in SOLIDWORKS Electrical and I am having a hard time finding any information about it. The only information I have been able to find is in the help file in SWE but it doesn't provide much help. I want to create an excel file which has drop down menus of options that can be selected. My problem is that when I click excel automation and choose my file it just creates the macros in the default configuration. I want the excel sheet to come up and the user to select the options first, otherwise the user has to open the excel sheet manually, make their selections, save a copy, and then browse to and open that copy. Can it be done how I'm imagining it?
