How can I use surfaces to fill the boundary highlighted in blue?
I've added a sample file.
Use the knit surface command, instead of thicken, and select "make solids" option. This option become active when you pick the surfaces that make a closed volume.
Planar Surface,..if you just want to have the sketches as surfaces.
..although, it looks like you want to create a latch.. so,.. you could revolve and cut...?
Thanks Paul. I know I can do it with revolve but I just want to practice using surfaces.
I want the results as in your 2nd screen shot using surfaces and want to know how I can do it.
Think I got it:
I used Lofted surface:
which gave me this:
then I filled the 2 ends using surface plane which gave me this:
Now I have another question:
what if I want to fill the inside and make it a full solid. ( I know I can use thicken but this only thickens walls)
and the cross section will look like this:
How can I fill the hollow?
Try using delete surface with delete/patch option. Select the faces of the "hollowed" area.
Thanks, there's a create solid check box in the surface knit.
