I am doing a simple stress analysis in SW on a long shaft being pushed with 1000lbs. in the center of the length. I am comparing our current material (17-4 stainless steel, 34 Rc) to hardened A2 60Rc. I was having a little trouble finding material data, especially for the A2, so i am wondering if I have bad data. When i run the simulation the amount of deflection is almost the same. I would have expected it to be dramatically better with the A2. Would anyone be interested in checking my data and/or running the simulation to verify results?
