when I print from it, it prints a border that says "Produced by an Autodesk Educational Product". I'm taking 200 level engineering courses and this looks pretty unprofessional when I print from autocad for my class projects. Does Solid Works student edition print a "student version" banner like autocad does?
Yes- they have to do this mainly for legal reasons. They don't want people using their free software in a professional environment. To check, the border may appear differently if you print an image of the part vs putting the part into a drawing file and printing that.
You could try to get around this by saving as a pdf or jpg and print from there, not sure if that works... You could also use snipping tool and print out the image, but that will likely be low image quality.
I wouldn't be too worried about this, because everyone else in your class will be turning in similar work, and the teacher knows that the student version works that way.

Your professor should have enough experience to understand that is a sign that you are ethical and not using a pirated version of the software.
If your professor objects to the watermark - then you should visit the Dean's office and suggest a review of engineering ethics for the professor.

You are referring to AutoCAD, not SolidWorks.
Autodesk products abandoned the edu watermark years ago.
Students can download current Autodesk products for free from http://engineersrule.org
