I suspect this is a question more likely to come from a newbe, but I am having difficulty finding the solution. Perhaps it is because I've worked on other CAD programs, and sometime mix up the terminology or abilities each program has. I thought the word to look for would be "Adaptive", but it is not finding what I want.

I want to make a framed door (using Aluminum T-slot extrusions) and make it adaptive. In other words, I want to be able to insert this door assembly into another assembly and specify the bottom/top/side pieces it to fit within, and then the door assembly automatically adapts its size to fit the framed opening.

There will be several doors in the same top assembly, each a custom size.
In this case, I would prefer not using configurations of the same door assembly file, rather I would prefer to save a new version of each assembly (each copy created by using Pack-n-go to rename the sub components as needed)

I am also familiar with in-context parts or assemblies. But, I am not clear on how I would create copies of that in-context assembly and then insert another copy and specify the new mating facts. I guess I can just make a copy, suppress the original in the assembly, and edit the mates of the new copy.
