Put the dimension into a custom property and then put the custom property into the note.
Create an annotation/note, begin typing, then just double click on the necessary dimension. Problem is that it will only capture the value, any other symbology, like Ø, R, °, etc., will be removed.
Thanks Eddie and Roland. Mine captured the diameter symbol but it's not a link so I guess I can go with the custom property method. I was just trying to keep from cluttering my file properties.
I kind of screwed up, I'm using SW06 for production and it does not parametrically capture symbols. However, SW08 will capture symbols & tolerances if a dimensional value has any.
Anyway, using a file property would be the last thing I would do. What are your specifics?
It's in my signature now...
Good job David,
If everyone would add their pertinent information to their signatures that would be great.
I have tested in SW08 and everything works as advertised. For instance; create the folowing note:
APPLY WET PRIMER TO THE ENTIRE CYLINDER ().
...place cursor in parenthesis and click on the cylinder's diameter and the result will be:
APPLY WET PRIMER TO THE ENTIRE CYLINDER (Ø1.125±.005).
