We are planning on naming our files with both the part number and description. For example:
SR021204 Widget, Nifty.SLDPRT
We are using the PartNo property to contain the part number. If the file name was just the part number, I could easily make the PartNo property equal to the file name. Is there a way to have it only include the first part of the file name rather than the whole thing?

The reason I want to do this is so that we only have to change the part number in one place (the file name) and have everything update. This will help us as we rename or copy things.

I plan to use the PartNo property on the drawing on BOM tables.

If there is a better way for me to accomplish this, please let me know. Naming with only the part number is not an option at this time.
