revisions in pdmworks

I want to know what to, in order to reverse some revisions. Somebody in my office has the configuraton of the revisons wrong, because anytime he saves a drawing automatically his revison increased to the point that he is at the maximum of the revisions, since we do changes to some drawings that do not require a revision. what can we do to reverse this? or how to handle in a better way the revisions?

If you have Admin rights you can delete revisions or the whole file from PDMW. If you delete the revisions you will lose any changes made to the file. So going back to a lower revision and keeping all of the changes can be tricky. One way would be to have a current copy of the file on your system. Delete all the revisions +1 out of PDMW, so if you want the file to be at rev 3 delete all revisions down to rev 2 so when you check the current file back in it will be at rev 3.

In the future you should setup your revision scheme in PDMW to use "working copy" so when checking in a file the user will have the option of checking in files as a working copy and the revision will not change until the user wants it changed. See "working copy" in the help file for more information.
