Firstly, the new version runs like a dream. All the
environments work fine. The 2008 files that crashed the previous
versions no longer crash them, and it seems faster.
I was playing around with the lights there, and applied them to a Point of Sale I'm doing right now. I noticed that the lighting does not affect the ground plane at all. See the attached images. Here I applied a (greatly intensified) LED blue to the hidden face to mimic downlighting. The blue can be seen to wash down the vertical face, but as it hits the ground - nothing. Same in the reflective bases as well.
I know the solution to this is to model in a ground plane but this wrecks the alpha.

The shadow floor environments are not really floors but just the shadow layer with the background showing thru (This is how you can get alpha with transparent shadow floor.) If you want to see the lighting use the reflection floor. If you want true lighting contribution to the floor, make one in SW and bring it in with the assembly into PV.
