Turn on realview.
Apply the "polished steel" appearance.
Set your scene to "courtyard". it will look very shiny.
but i still can't get it. when i set the mtl to chrome stainless, and turn realview on, i get this.... see jpeg
Charles, when i try to change the appearance to polish steel, when i browse, there is nothing in the directory.. anyhow, i've attached the a part file in case someone may be able to look at it... thanks...
if i can get it to look like Larry's, it would be awsome....
I think part of the problem is the lighting. Try setting a directional to:
*uncheck lock to model
Rotate the part.
The light source may be hitting it from the other side...
What I did:
Opened your model.
Turned on RealView.
Selected Chrome Plated Appearance.
Added a Sphere.
Looks pretty shiny to me! A flat plate reflection will only reflect a tiny area, by making it a sphere it will, ofcourse, reflect a larger area. If Inventor was getting a reflection that was showing a larger area then they were "cheating" a little bit. I say cheating, but whatever "looks right" is the correct answer anyway, huh?
