The important thing is to keep all of your templates/formats/etc
somewhere outside of your "Solidworks" folder, and make a copy for
each release. That way you can't accidentally save a template for
2008, only to not be able to open it in 2007. Don't forget the
toolbox either, if you use that.
I currently have 2006, 7, 8, and 2009 beta installed. Some people
even have multiple versions running at the same time.
