    2-D simulation

    Ryan Orozco
Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows how to do a 2-D simulation in solidworks, such as flow over an airfoil? Would I have to create a 3-D model, then solve along a specified plane?

      Thanks for the help,
      Ryan

yes, floworks can analyze a 2d plane flow problem. Under 'input data', select the 'computational domain' and there is a tab for 'boundary condition' with the option for 2d flow. select the plane for the flow, such as x-y plane. be sure to set up your model centered on one of the three main planes.
