I thought PhotoView only worked on SW2009 files? Seems to
work OK on some of the files I have brought in from SW2008.
If there is some fundamental reason for using SW2009 files (other than - it needs to be SW2009 files so you need to upgrade to SW2009
) then I recommend putting a warning or blocker on the Open file
procedure like "This file is a SW200x format file and is
incompatible with PhotoView. Please resave the file in SW2009
format and try again".

All the PV builds up to this point can load 2008 (or even earilier versions) files, with the exception of crashes of coarse.
The reason for stating 2009 is not subversive, it's because we are actually changing the file structure of 2009+ to include appearance information so that we can bring forward the appearance info from SW to PV and also so that the PV info can be saved in the SW file.
By the time we get to 2009 release, it could very well be the case that PV only opens SW 2009 files. If we don't inforce this, there will be no way to save a PV session.
