Animating a rolling wheel

I'm trying to get something similar to a railway wheel to roll on the rail.

I applied a rotary motor to the wheel and it rotates alright. But it doesn't move along the track. I have added gravity and 3D friction. There is also a tangent mate between the wheel and the track.

No one else has this question

The path has to be one surface. Check this file. Its slighlty different from wot you looking for but I'm sure will server your purpose. Or if you need I can create one simple file and send you.

You seem have to set the railway track fixed, and set the wheel not fixed.

  I did get this to work the next day. Probably the difference was that I didn't have the tangent mate between the wheel perimeter face and the rail top face on the second try.
