I am creating a new fiberglass piece about 4.5 feet wide in which one whole face is rounded for the interior of a boat. I have the piece completed and manufactured, but now I need to make a template for another company so they can mold a flexible faceplate that will be painted to fix on the front of it. They need what it would look like flat so they can make it, then when we install it we will bend it to fit the dash (the curve is not very severe and the material they use is very pliable). This is somewhat similar to making a flat for a sheet metal part, but there are no distinct bends or curves, the whole face of the dash is curved. I know Rhino software has a button that will take a curved face and flatten it without distortion. Is there anything like that on SolidWorks?
