Constraining infinate centerines

When I insert a centerline of infinate length into a sketch with a verticle or horizontal constraint, for example two centerlines one verticle and the other horizontal both attached to a center point of a circle, why do they show up as under defined. Also, why can I rotate the line violating the verticle or horizontal contraint that is there to prevent the line from rotating.
Help please, I currently have a bad headache from from trying to figure this out.

I have SW 2008.
