Without fail, every time I close the PhotoView preview window, SW freezes and I have to kill it. Using 2016 SP3.0 running Win8.1 via bootcamp on 15" Macbook Pro.
..just a guess... could be related to the Bonjour version? (that is, reinstall old bonjour version)
Photoview 360 Crashing
That is interesting. How do I go about doing that?
Ok, this is seriously affecting getting an animation done as PhotoView freezes after every frame. If I kill PhotoView from the task manager, the next frame will start. This is using the regular non speeded up "animation" mode as I have springs that need to be compressed and the colors aren't right on the accelerated engine.
..before you pull your hair out,.. try a repair.. or reset/rename registry
and,.. check you driver...
..your profile shows.. a Dell Precision M4600 WIN7 Pro 64bit Quadro 2000M... so,.. it's the 347.52?
I'm on a MacBook Pro. Haven't updated my profile in awhile.
...and.. it's running off Bootcamp... or..?
....what windows versions?
regardless,.. it's the same either way,.. still suggest running the repair and rename/reset registry... and trying drivers to see if that helps?
I posted those details in the OP. I tried your suggestions. Thanks for those; but they did not work. Earlier versions of SW and photoview are not crashing on this machine. I think it's a communication issue between the two processes and not a video issue.
..sorry (op),... ok,.. you have 8.1 as well.. and I will guess you have a AMD Graphics card?... I have to agree, it's probably not video,.. I know what my nvidia card works slightly different with each release.. and I have only a few drivers which work well with all... so, I'd try another driver if you can experiment.
..otherwise,.. it seems to be something with 2016 speciically.. maybe the install got hosed (and repair does not always repair).. so,.. uninstall/reinstall is other option?
..going back to Bonjour.. I personally had problems with 2015 with Bonjour... some other program last year had,auto-updated and my Bonjour service was not the correct version... and, I had read about this before.. so, I uninstall/reinstalled Bonjour. (I think it's now at vers 3.001?)
(... btw, the repair does not fix a old Bonjour install.)
