Installing SolidWorks 64bit on Vista

It's my first to install the 64 bit Version. I will install it on Vista 64 Bit. I have 2 DVDs in the package as any one. one of them is for the 32 bit XP and Vista but the other one for 64 bit edition is labeled for the windows Xp. is that mean that i can't install it on vista too or it's for both?

I think you'll need to download the Vista x64 version.
When 2008 was shipped solidworks were not supporting x64 on Vista (only XP)
Service Pack 3 I think was about when they started to support Vista X64

if you goto the downloads section, you will see 2 versions of SW2008 SP3.1 , one is for 32bit, one is for 64bit.

    Sorry if I explained wrong. I mean with the full version that I need the source Or the original DVD for 64bit for Vista cause the one i have is the Sp0 that support WinXp that was shiped with the first releas. I need to install the 3.1 directly not the Sp0.0 then 3.1 .

      Download the full version from the website at SP3.1. You only need your orginal DVD as an anti-piracy measure. You do not need or want to install from the original DVD first. You will go directly to SP3.1.
      
      If you look carefully at the installation mamager messages you will see that this is possible for any version and SP of SW. You do not need to install first from the SP 0.0 DVD any more.
      
      Use the DVD you recieved originally and see how it goes. I beleive there are two in the box. Use the 64 bit one for your install. If SW doesn't like it, try the other one.

to add to Anna, if you want a DVD you are going to have to contact your VAR. I would personally just download it. much faster and it saves trees too lol

  I already used the original DVD that was in the pckage but My problem is that I've recived some errors while installing SP3.1 nad every Time I open th esoftware.
  I think that because at this time there was no support for Vista 64bit. only Win Xp
  and if read what on the DVD you will find only win XP not like the 32bit DVD that supports both XP & Vista. So I'll try to download it using the installation Manager as Anna said.

        In the begging it was good. but now !!!!!!!!!
        I have some problems when opening toolbox files it takes long time to load toll box folder. even when I drag and drop component it slow down. also some times it slow down while doing other things like the hole series and hole wizard.
        I think I'll roll back to XP it's just a matter of time
