I am running student edition 2016-17 64bit windows 8.1 and no matter what I do I can not get realview to work, the option is there but it is always greyed out Are there any fixes for this? Thanks -Perry
Which graphic card do you have? Check here Graphics Card Drivers | SOLIDWORKS if your card is supported. If not the realview is grayed out:
Although there may be a rare exception, the quick answer is that you need a NVidia Quadro or AMD Firepro series graphic card to use Realview.
What kind of part/assembly/drawing... are you working on? If you are working on an assembly in large assembly mode realview will not be enabled.
(Check lower right hand of SW).
It doesn't have to be a Quadro or Firepro. If you are adventuresome, almost any card that support OpenGL can be hacked thru the windows system registry to enable RealView. You will get better performance with these two card thou over a lower end gaming card.
If you are doing this for an assembly you'll need to "Set Lightweight to Resolved". RealView doesn't work when components are loaded lightweight. Perhaps this is your issue.
