We just received our new T3400's. I ordered the systems with just 1GB of 667 MHz memory. Then ordered 4GB of 1066MHz memory from Newegg. Dell did not offer 1066 memory, the fastest option was 800MHz. I'm now frustrated to find that the Bios offers very limited control of the system. Unless I'm missing something, you can't select memory speed, voltage, or latency options. It's locked. Am I stuck with 800MHz, or is there a way to get the full potential out of this new memory?

Dell doesn't allow all the BIOS customization that is available if you build your own system. So, no, there is no way to set the speed, voltages, timings, etc. with a Dell system, in my experience. Check to see if the RAM is recognized as 1066 or 800 in your system. If it recognizes the 1066 as 800, RMA it and get 800MHz RAM.
