I have a SW Drawing on a 22x34 template, and want to print it on 11x17 paper. When I hit print, I can shrink the entire drawing to fit onto the page, but then the sheet scale factor is wrong. (Scale says 1:6 when it really would be 1:12)
To try to answer your question, I would assume no Sw can't compensate for that automatically, manually trial and error.... That would be a good enhancement request though.
It sounds like you have the paper Scale one ratio and the Model Scale another ratio, right click on the drawing, go to the sheet properties and see what that is, then if you click on the drawing view, check the scale in that dialog box, thinking it may be different.
Wording on my question was a little confusing- when I view everything in SolidWorks it is all correct. I made the drawing on the 22x34 sheet, so the paper scale and model scale are all in alignment.
When I print out the document to an 11x17, however, the printer itself takes the image and scales the entire drawing (text, borders, model...), but that means that the scale will be off on the printed version.
I was wondering if you could set up something to adjust the scale knowing that you are going to print it differently than the sheet size without manually overriding all the scales in the drawing?
No idea what your printer settings look like, but were you thinking that you would want to print 100% paper scale??
Nope, I used that scale to fit setting. So it would be printing at 66% scale. I'm assuming that's something that SW can't compensate for but that's what my question was: if there is a way to set that up?

Change to a 11x17 sheet format and then print it, or manually override the sheet scale note.
I didn't want to change because it is typically printed on 22x34, just wanted a smaller copy for convenience. If I change to 11x17 that means I have to redo all the borders, text size, etc...
Manual override really isn't too bad either, it's just the scale note and a few detail views that would need to be changed.
