We will be implementing PDM Enterprise soon.
How many of you use the autogenerateing function of part numbers in PDME?

In 2008 PDMWE you have the ability to choose when to use the auto number.
For example, you can create SolidWorks Templates that reside in the Vault. Using these Templates, you can auto number the new files.
Or, you can create SolidWorks files outside the Vault. For example, Bracket.sldprt. Then, when you Check In the Part, the auto numbering can or cannot be enabled.
So you have a few different options, you're not locked into one scheme.
