I am trying to determine which way to go on these two video
cards. Other than the approx. $600 difference the only specs. that
differ are:
o 1600M, 128-bit interface, 25.6 GB/sec bandwidth, 50W power
o 3600M, 256-bit interface, 51.2 GB/sec bandwidth, 70W power
The Dell website has a table that says the 1600M is recomended for SW and the 3600M for Pro/e.
The power consumption is less so I would guess that the battery may last longer. Other than that the only numbers to look at are the bandwidth and the interface.
Does anyone out there have either of these two video cards in their laptop?
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks,
George

I purchased an M6300 with the 1600M video card 2 months ago. It came with the high end screen. I purchased it from the Dell Outlet Center for $1700.00 plus tax and shipping. It has the 2.6GHz CPU and 4GB RAM. It's a great machine.
