I know this is such an OLD TOPIC...sure hope someone is still listening! (lol, that means you Wayne)...
But can edrw files be imported in ANY WAY into SolidWorks, even as a drawing file or as a DXF/DWG???.....
The edrw file I have doesn't allow measuring so I'm hoping I can bring it into SW for that process...yes? no? help?
You can try converting from e-drawings to STL and then being that STL into SolidWorks but not sure if this will work.
Edrawings produces a tesselated model without features. The only thing you can do is save the edrawings file as an STL and open that in Solidworks. If you have the Scanto3D plug-in, you can go through a surface recognition on that similar to featureworks.
Don't have the STL export option available to me with this edrw file--out of luck, I guess.
Thanks for helping just the same, John...and you too, Deepak.
Looks like I'm forced take a different approach.
