Is it possible to block eDrawings from checking the internet
for news? We use a proxy server so everytime we open eDrawings it
prompts us for our credentials which gets pretty annoying.
Why are all the eDrawings settings HKCU-based, especially those
that one would think really should be HKLM-based to simplify
administration? Unless you're planning to release an .adm file so
admins can centrally manage all these user settings via GPO, and if
so, when will that be coming?
Or, at least, add a setup option checkbox for stuff like this...
and don't leave out a default reg entry either.
The more I work with SolidWorks products, the more I think you
folks are just-plain trying to make an admin's job harder. I'm sure
that's not the case, but it seems that way sometimes.
That's from the perspective of a net admin, not an engineer
end-user of SolidWorks products, but the guy that has to keep those
folks both happy and in line.
You can disable the RSSFeed with a registry entry.
In HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eDrawings\e2008\General, add a DWORD named RSSFeed with a value of 0.
