I am trying to draw a sheet metal part with a rolled edge
(see attached picture. ignore the handle and the brackets, just the
sheet metal part).
I have thought of using a forming tool, but it seems that you can only use them on flat surfaces. I thought about using a flange bent 15 degrees but that didn't work.
I want to use sheet metal so I can flatten out the part for a blank length for the first operations in the shop.
Will solidworks let me do this?
Thanks

Forgive my lack of knowledge. How do I save it in 2007 format. A quick search (save as, help, forums) doesn't provide an answer.
thanks for the assistance
The next best thing would be to save the file as an intermediate file like IGES. Then after importing add bends back to the part.
I'm not looking for someone to do the part. A thought on the direction I should go and whether solidworks will let me do it.
Thanks

I am still open to the idea that I could be wrong and there is an approach that would work.
