"Description" inconsistancies

I have a vault where the file name is the current Part No. and the "Description" field is used for a description. Sounds pretty straightforward right? Well WHY can this Windows property be displayed in the 'Vault View' and not the 'Local View'?

The PDMW Local Options include a tab 'Label' to set what information is shown in the vault tree. Is there a way to set the 'Local View' the same?

I have tried to set Windows to display "Description" when a normal File Explorer window is opened, but this column remains empty. I just want this information displayed in my 'Local View' in the same manner that it's shown in the Vault.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I would label it more a limitation than an inconsistency. What version of SolidWorks are you using? This is just an assumption but the vault view shows what properties are mapped via the vault upon check in. The File Explorer window shows just the properties of the file. Right click the file in FE, then click properties, then click the custom tab to see some of the attributes as you would see in the vault. It's the same for SW07 and SW08. I suggest you request and enhancement.
