First time post:

I am attempting to make a panel, like a panel of glass/plastic/whatever, 4mm thick. I've got that. Now I want it to look like a wire mesh. It needs to be transparent (see through) with a black wire grid.

I'd really rather not actually draw all the wires because it would be tedious and pointlless and eat processor power.

So I've got the panel, any idea how to look it make like a wire mesh?

I can make the panel transparent with the apearance callouts. I can make it have a "waffle" pattern (what SolidWorks calls the texture) which is close enough for visual use. I can also use the waffle texture and make it transluscent(SP?) but that's not quite what I want.

I just come from AutoCAD. In AutoCAD I was able to make a bitmap of grid lines and load that into the transparency property. Everywhere the bitmap was white, the panel was transparent. Black was opaque, and shades of gray were transluscent(SP?). It worked great, but how is it done in SW?

SW 2008 - no service pack installed yet.

Thanks
