Dear Moldflow Customer,
We are pleased to inform you of Autodesk's intention to acquire Moldflow. We are excited about the new opportunities this can bring for our customers to increase the value of their investments in Moldflow and Autodesk software.
We see strong synergies between Moldflow and Autodesk products. We plan to leverage those synergies to streamline the creation of products and better address the challenges you face in optimizing the design and manufacture of your injection molded plastic parts.
Together, we believe that Moldflow and Autodesk products will allow more users to predict and eliminate potential problems in the manufacture of their digital prototypes and to make more informed decisions about plastics part and mold design earlier in the process. Autodesk's commitment to providing the industry's most complete Digital Prototyping solution gives customers the ability to optimize, validate and improve designs, reducing the need for physical prototypes and shortening development cycles.
Autodesk intends to fully support existing Moldflow customers, many of whom are already customers of Autodesk. We would like to reassure you that Autodesk currently plans to continue the development and support of Moldflow's products and services. We plan to maintain existing CAD and CAE solutions and to continue to provide outstanding data integration services for all Moldflow products.
As you may know, Autodesk is the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building and construction, and media and entertainment markets. Since its introduction of AutoCAD software in 1982, Autodesk has developed the broadest portfolio of state-of-the-art digital prototyping solutions to help customers experience their ideas before they are real. Many Fortune 1000 companies rely on Autodesk for the tools to create, visualize, simulate and analyze real-world performance throughout the design process to save time and money, enhance quality and foster innovation. We are confident that Moldflow customers will benefit from Autodesk's over $400 million in R&D spending, and that Autodesk's global network of channel partners will help introduce Moldflow solutions to new markets and opportunities.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the second calendar quarter of 2008.
We thank you for your business and reiterate our commitment to bringing you creative solutions of the highest caliber. Please continue to work with your current sales representatives and channel partners to conduct business.
On behalf of Autodesk and Moldflow, we thank you for your partnership.
Sincerely,
Roland Thomas
President & CEO
