Hi,
one customer asked me what torsional springs are used for and if I could supply an example. I was looking at the wheel of fortune tv show and I've created the example in attach.
Contact was defined between parts to prevent penetration, and then a STEP function on force to simulate a person spinning the wheel.
Finally a torsional spring was used to have the pointer always come back to the initial position.

thanks for your interesting illustration of torsional springs applications, I will keep them in mind to maybe build some other examples for COSMOS Motion classes.
When I'll have time I have to show you a nice example I have of a panthograph that can draw a number of geometrical shapes by using:
- motion controlled by spline laws
- trace path
Unfortunately I only have it in COSMOS Motion 2007 and I'd like to rebuild the example in COSMOS Motion 2008.
Sincerely,
