Mouse pointer flies to left

When using my Kensington Expert Mouse Pro (USB) - much loved, which I don't want to replace -

When selecting a line the mouse dives to the bootom left hand of the screen.

When creating relationships (for example, tangents) my mouse pointer flies to the left into the Existing Relations window.

Longstanding problem - still there with latest driver download.

[edit] now its flying to the Existing Relations window when I selec a line, too.[/edit]

Any thoughts of how to overcome?

Windows Xp SP2 OS.
