Unfolding an assembly??

I have a customers part I am trying to unfold and send to my laser. The problem is that my customer added a bunch of holes at the assembly stage? When I open the part I want to unfold the holes are not there as well as when I unfold the part?

How do I get these holes in the piece part from the assy? I could make a sketch in the part stage and add them in but there must be an easier way?

I don't know of any good way to just move them. Since it's after the fact, I would probably copy & paste the sketches onto the part face and reposition and cut. You could also edit the part in the assy and convert the edges.

isolate the part in question.
save as>.sldprt
open new part and insert sheetmetal feature.

hopefully you can tactfully explain the customer's error to them.
assembly cuts = cuts that can only be obtained when 2 or more items are assembled.
